Sam turned 9 months today so I snapped some photos while he was playing and thought I’d share with you all some of what he’s been up to this month.
- Sam started off this month by climbing the 2 stairs between our living and play rooms (see video below). It was quite the show of determination as he slipped down after making some progress a couple of times — but after a few 2nd efforts, reached the top.
- Sam also pulled up to standing for the first time this month (3/20)
- He’s developed his sense of humor and repetoire of funny faces
- He’s now crawling on all 4s exclusively (at the beginning of the month he was still commando)
- Sam’s curiosity level is close to being insatiable and he has some bruises to prove it. Thankfully he doesn’t usually mind the spills (and I’ve gotten better at managing my reactions 🙂
- Sam is now cruising the length of the couch (8 feet or so) and loves to tip over his Lego box and pull out every last one of the Legos 🙂
- He’s figured out a number of different exit strategies from his standing up position — including letting go with both hands, twisting around, and dropping to all fours (it was quite impressive and nerve wracking to watch – but he didn’t splat on his face thankfully)
- His latest development is learning to wave. He now can "wave at Dada" with about 75% accuracy and "wave at Mama" with about 40-50% accuracy. He also knows his sock and will show it to you if you ask him 🙂
- He also has discovered mirrors in his playroom (he’s liked them in the bathroom for awhile now) and we’ve seen him "kissing the baby" on a number of occasions — very endearing.
