Sam loves feeding himself small bits of food — avocado is his favorite, but he likes peas, carrots, and cheese too. Thankfully he still is willing to eat pureed food as well (some of our baby friends only eat finger foods and refuse any other).
One of his signals that he’s done is that he starts dropping the finger foods over the side of his high chair. Tonight, the signal took a new on a new twist: Sam took the pea, looked at me in the face, moved his hand over the side of the tray, and giggled!
It was all I could do not to laugh out loud.
Of course, I knew if I did, I’d be done for as Sam, like every child, loves to repeat anything that makes me or John laugh.
