Language Explosion
aSince uttering his first word in April, Sam has been chatting up a storm — especially these last 2 weeks. And I have to say, watching him watch us pronounce each word and focus on how our mouths move is just remarkable.
His vocabulary is now up to 8 words:
— Hi
— Dada
— birds
— bye bye
— bath
— ball
— bottle
— plane (he usually hears it first, then holds his hand up while he says the word 🙂
Except for bottle, every word could be understood by others besides his mom and dad, I think. Bottle is still dependent on Sam holding it up or crawling to it (mostly).
He has also said the following a few times: peaches, bear, doggie, froggie, and Andrew (said his name 3 times while he was visiting us last week! 🙂
John was also capitalizing on Sam’s addition of P sounds to the lineup and is now trying to get him to say Papa. I told both of them if Sam has 2 words for John before he has 1 for me that they are both permanently in the doghouse ;-).
