…….Sam’s mom decides to put the candle close to him instead of away from him.  Isn’t she the safety obsessed one, you ask?  And you’ll note John’s hand gestures on the left side of the video — but it was lost in the song and the excitement :-).

So as our curious boy is want to do, he starts a new tradition for birthdays — snuffing out the candle with his fingers.  No injuries were sustained thankfully but there were some tears (more a reaction to his audience than to actual pain we think).
