Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!  Sam is having a good day — slept in until 7:30 am !?!?!  I know this will probably be the last time he’ll sleep in on Christmas.  🙂

Hope  you all are having a very merry Christmas!

Love from Sam

Sam was much more engaged in Christmas this year but still needed a prompt or 2 to open his presents.  He was great at being the "Christmas Elf" and taking presents to Nana, Dad, and me.  He often decided that the present wasn’t actually for Dad, it was for mom, or vice versa (a boy’s prerogative ;-).  He loved the Christmas tree, ornaments, and lights and enjoyed saying good morning to it when he woke up each day and was sad to say good night at the end of the day.

We mostly hung around the house today enjoying the singing stuffed animals and new clothes (thanks Nana!), train set (thanks Grandee and Dana), backpack (thanks Bampa), doggie book (thanks Gigi!), CAMP T-shirt (thanks TX grandparents!), plastic train w/ zoo animals (thanks Nikhyl!), and tricycle (thanks Santa!).  After nap, we went for a ride on the new trike and saw both a firetruck pulling out of the station (not on a call, so no lights) and a Pomeranian dog that licked Sam’s face (Sam loves Pomeranians now b/c of his freind Lenny who is owned by and hangs out daily at our local dry cleaners).

Highlights of the day (and I got some of these on video so stay tuned) were:

  • playing with the toy monkey that Nana gave him and dancing as it made its "Ooo, aah ahh" sound
  • figuring out the switches and remote to his train set
  • clapping as the music of his animal train started
  • "playing" the Wii tennis game with his dad (he’d make the motions that John was making with the remote; the new games involve full-body motion similar to that of a real tennis game)

Merry Christmas everyone!
