Ptera-what?
While John was changing SPL’s diaper yesterday afternoon, SPL was looking at his recently purchased dinosaur book (diaper changing isn’t his favorite thing so we do what we can to distract and amuse 🙂 and from as far away as our kitchen, I heard a clearly pronounced "pteradactyl." And I have to say, his pronunciation on much "easier" words can be much more garbled. But this was proficient from the first utterance.
I’m still not sure how he knows that word — I have been known to say "did I give birth to a baby or a pteradactyl?" sometimes when he screams — so maybe that’s the source (and I definitely said it more when he was a newborn as his cries did sound like I’d imagined a pteradactyl would sound like).
It’s the only one I can think of unless it’s John’s handiwork — but from his surprised response yesterday at the changing table, I’m guessing it’ll remain a mystery.
