Can’t pull a fast one on this kid
confession: when SPL was asleep last night, we removed the batteries from his new favorite toy, the below mentioned cell phone (which had been answering in Japanese whenever he pushed the buttons).
So this morning, when he picked it up, the first thing he did, of course, was push some buttons. And when it didn’t start talking, he looked at us and said "battery" "out."
We’re still not sure how he made this connection — he probably heard us say something last night — and we’ve definitely replaced a bunch of batteries in toys w/ Sam watching over the last number of months — so I’m sure he picked it up along the way.
Thankfully he moved on quickly and wasn’t too bothered by the change in his new toy.
