Austen is a nice kid." — As part of our winding down ritual we sing the "good bye song (or "zi jien" in Mandarin 🙂 from our music class to all our family and adopted uncles and aunts.  tonight, after we finished singing to Uncle Al, Aunt Lori and Austen, SPl said "Austen is a nice kid."  Before that, SPL said "sing goodbye to Austen’s dad."  🙂

Another funny quote from tonight’s goodnight routine: "Grandpa Ben is a funny grandpa." 
The back story: We are fortunate to have great neighbors and one of them is Grandpa Ben. He and Grandma Linda are the parents of our neighbor Sherman — by weekday they are the childcare providers for not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 girls ages 4-7 (and they’ve been the childcare providers since the now 7 year old twins were babies!!?!?!) — by weekend they are residents of San Francisco :-). Talk about amazing.
