Grandpa comes to save the day!
Our nanny has been on vacation to visit her father in China since January 15 and her vacation coincided with a business trip that John had planned months ag0. Soooooo……back in November I called up my dear father and used the old family phrase, “have I got an opportunity for you!”
He is a super star: not only did he help us last week, he came out to help Beth for 3 weeks when the twins were born and also watched them solo for a couple of weeks when she went back to work! So I had experienced help 😉
SPL had a marvelous time with him: each morning he’d run into Grandpa’s room and see if he was still there 🙂 (SPL was sleeping in later than Grandpa was). They, colored, and did all kinds of projects as Beth’s family and over for dinner which was fun. SPL loves his cousins : EVR, KAR and aunt Beth helped him make a and he loved rough-housing with ACR.
Having dad here made it much more fun — and it was great to have some adult conversation while John was in Europe :-). I also have to thank some preschool friends who helped out with carpool a few days — that was invaluable.
It was fun and busy week for all of us — though by Thursday, it was interesting to note that while SPL and I were pretty tired, Grandpa was still kickin’ it :-).
