Friends from Philly come to visit

Playing Handy Manny

Al, Lori, and their son, The Beaner (8 months older than SPL) came to visit us during The Beaner’s spring break from preschool (last week of March). They moved to Philly from Mountain View 5 years ago but have been very good about making an annual pilgrimage back to the Bay Area – – which we really appreciate since we still haven’t made it to Philadelphia 😦

We had a great visit on Sunday March 22 at our house. The boys played in SPL’s room, made it very clear that they didn’t want any adult interlopers:-), hid when I tried to take their picture, played Handy Manny, read books, and even created a play (video will be forthcoming).  We also went out to dinner @ a local sushi restaurantwhere the boys agreed on avocado rolls as their mutual fave and loved throwing coins into the fountain.

On Thursday we had a playdate at the park down the street where we built sand castles and had fun burying SPL, the Beaner, and Uncle Al in the sand:-).

And Friday we closed out this visit at Sunken Diamond to watch a Stanford baseball game – perfect for a spring evening.  The Beaner introduced SPL to the snack Pirates’ Booty (to which SPL is now addicted 🙂 and they had fun rolling down the hill on the first base side. Here are some favorite photos from Sunken Diamond:the Beaner, Al, and John;  Lori and the Beaner, SPL waving at the team, during the 7th inning stretch (photo credit to Aunt Lori :-); the boys eating watermelon, and the boys goofing around.

Thanks for a fun visit!
