Kicking off Summer 2009

definitely didn’t know he could do this!?! (5 feet up)

SPL’s schools finished the first week of June, so while I was still working last week, he was off for summer vacation. We managed to make it a fun week even though I had to work: we had his friend MR over , went to the Children’s Discovery Museum ( played with bubbles, explored the new fruit, vegetable and pizza area , dressed as a firefighter , and played on & drove the firetruck , and went to the park.

The park was most enlightening for me as I had no idea he could climb like he can. I was impressed by him c limbing the spiral, plastic slide (where he started) but I had no idea what was to come: the metal slide and then the concrete wall! Not pictured in the concrete wall photos is the other side which is how he got up to the top (there’s a shorter wall to start). But the dropping off the side, feet first (hooray!) blew me away. Wow.
