On Tuesday 4/6 SPL climbed up into this cherry tree all by himself. At first he wasn't sure he could do it, and I was standing about 30 ft from the tree (purposefully) in order to promote problem-solving. Earlier (before I moved away), I did hear him say "Now Shayna (another friend who had successfully climbed the same tree earlier) did this....put her foot on this knot...." so it was fun to be part of his thinking.
And he was understandably proud of his accomplishment.
