Spring Break # 1

Yes our family will have not 1, not 2, but 3 Spring Breaks this year!??!? None of our 3 school schedules overlap (thankfully John isn't in school or we'd be totally hosed :-). The good news is we get to have short "special" trips each week.

Our first trip was this past weekend to Cavallo Point in Sausalito. The location was beautiful -- picturesque view of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco Skyline. The staff of the lodge were charming, especially the valets, who befriended SPL (he was quite charming in his requests to ride in their golf carts and they gave him the VIP treatment by taking us the long way back to our room).

The Lodge is the remodel of Fort Baker, a former U.S. Army post. The historic buildings – formerly officers' residences – are now guest rooms that are family friendly :-). There is lots of green grass to run in/play ball and the Bay Area Discovery Museum is a quick walk away. They even have a well-known 1 start restaurant (but we missed out on their dinner menu as reservations are booked more than 24 hours in advance --- and we were on "vacation time." :-)

We had fun eating at Avatars restaurant (the owner was charming!) on Friday night, exploring the Discovery Museum & eating sushi on Saturday, and watching the rain fall on Sunday as we packed up to head back to Sunnyvale.

Although mom is back to work, SPL's 1st spring break (aka "Spring Break #2") started today with a playdate with preschool chum JV -- look for a post soon! And Friday is our fun day with SPL getting to choose our destination!
