I am ignoring my backlog of end-of-school-year posts + dance camp to post something current: our trip to New Brighton Beach Wednesday. We joined our friends who had reserved a campsite and then hung out at the beach for 5 hours. The weather was beautiful and SPL even learned how to boogey board (no pictures though)! While the waves were relatively gentle and small, the tricky part for SPL was the back flow. He had the board cuffed to his wrist and at one point the pull of the waves back to the ocean also pulled SPL and upended him onto his bottom. A great learning experience.
The other 3 families that we joined are Tender Tracks Outdoor Preschool friends so the cameraderie was high and the disagreements between the kids were few. It was a blast!
Check out
the video of the boys playing with a charred log (they did this for 45 mins and then carried it 50 feet across the sand (together) to a crater they'd contributed to digging).
Here they all are back at camp
