Mannerisms, teeth and other developments

Sam has developed some funny mannerisms this month — from coughing (often when I leave the room — ahem, mom and dad, attention please), to smacking his lips together, to pronouncing Ys and Ts in a whisper voice.

He’s also into using a spoon, reaching for it as we feed him. We’ve had to devise sneaky tactics in order to get the food into his mouth as his favorite thing is sliding his hand down towards the food and making sure it gets everywhere *but* his mouth :-).

And the big headline news is Sam is getting his first tooth! John found it breaking through his lower gum on Sunday (1/29). No wonder he’s been a bit on the cranky side and punting every nap he can.
