Sam and Lela

We went over to our friends Mike and Anne’s house for dinner last night and had both a good time and a yummy meal (thanks Anne and Mike!).  While I don’t have any photos, I do have a good story to share.  It was one of those parent moments when you see your kid in a new light for the first time.  Sam is very good at making us laugh but last night we watch for the first time as he entertained another baby (5 weeks younger) and made her laugh over and over and over again with his "upside down trick" (he was sitting in my lap and since his dad turns him upside down on a regular basis, he now signals his desire to do it again by leaning his head backwards).  As I leaned him backwards out of my lap, he was close to Lela (who was sitting next to us in her highchair) and she just cracked up, which of course pleased Sam to no end.

Besides his language development, I think I am enjoying his humor development most of all.  What a great life skill — to be able to make other people laugh and to enjoy life yourself.
