“Big Trucks”

Yesterday, on our way to our preschool parent/teacher conference at 9:30 am, I, just for fun, started pointing out "big trucks" on the highway.  Sam just nailed the concept and the words.  They’re everywhere in the morning (on Hwys 85 and 101), so it was perfect timing (we usually aren’t on the highways until later in the day :-).

And he shared his new found fascination with John when we met him at the conference — and since Sam’s enunciation isn’t that clear on these 2 words, it took some interpretation to decipher (though John was clear that Sam was very excited by whatever it was that he was talking about :-).

Today is our normal preschool day so we were on the road again @ 9 am and Sam didn’t miss a beat — and on the way home, the *one truck* that we saw on 85 South saved me (as opposed to the 10 or so we’d seen on the same stretch @ 9 am).  Sam was tired and winding down towards naptime (and beginning to fuss) and we still had a couple of miles to go before we reached home — but he perked up at the sight of the "big truck."
