Merry Christmas!

To all our family and friends, we send our best wishes that you had a merry Christmas Tuesday and are enjoying the holiday week (hopefully you have a few days off :-).  We miss all of you but had fun celebrating Christmas morning with SPL and Christmas evening with Beth, Scott, and their 3 kids.

Christmas season has been a lot more fun this year as SPL has really been into the tree, decorations, lights, Santa.  He loved going Christmas tree "shopping" in the woods and picking out a tree with Nana.  And decorating it was fun too — his favorite ornaments were the bells this year (though moose was still tops as well).  Funny ornament story:  John and I both went to Crate and Barrel separately over the holidays and picked out their new moose ornament line.  And get this — there were 4 total and even though neither of us knew the other had bought some, we ended up with no duplicates (John & SPL bought 3 for me and I bought 1 for SPL :-).

Funny Christmas Eve story:  we were putting out Santa’s snacks, which in our house equaled a fruit strip (SPL’s favorite dessert treat) and a cup of milk.  John suggested that we use the "Bobo cup" for Santa as that was SPL’s favorite.  SPL started getting a bit upset and then I realized what (I think) he was thinking:  that Santa would *take* his favorite cup back to the North Pole with him!?!?!  I reassured SPL that Santa would leave his cup and we even wrote it on our note :-).

Christmas morning he woke up @ 7am which is on the late side for him.  He didn’t totally realize what day it was but after we reminded him, he did.  He loved the fort that Santa brought and set up in his playroom and the truck that was parked inside too.

Thank you to each of you for the brooms (KY great-grandparents), the soccer goal & ball (Dave, Sue, Grace and Evan), the ornaments and books (Nana), the basketball and train set(Aunt Beth, Uncle Scott, and trio), the music player/"iPod" (Grandee and Dana), the book of poetry (Aunt Daesman, Uncle Rodney, and Madelyn, the cool animation book (Gigi), the National Geographic Kids subscription (Bampa), and the ornaments and generous donation you made for him (Grandma and Grandpa). (Unfortunately I didn’t get pictures of everything — yet!  🙂

And a big special thanks to Beth and Scott for having us over for Christmas dinner – it was yummy and fun!

We are very fortunate to have wonderful friends and family and even though we are far away from most of you all this season, we send our love and thanks for all that you do for us throughout the year!

More photos from Christmas (and you might be happy to know — I sure was! — that I got a new digital camera (Canon 40D) for Christmas to support my blogging and photography addiction 🙂
