Two and a half!

This month milestone was over the holidays so I didn’t have much time to jot down notes unfortunately.

Christmas was greeted with great anticipation this year.  He understood the idea of Santa Claus and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" over and over and over again!

During the New Year holiday, we all traveled to Arizona to join some friends to celebrate 2007 and welcome 2008.  This was SPL’s first time to stay with an unfamiliar caregiver and he did great.  They’d scheduled a guitar/music/singalong session each day so that helped SPL a lot (he loves music and singing).  And there were also other children in his age group (from 6 mos to 4 years) to play with so he enjoyed that.  Plus they had lots of cool toys :-)!

At our hotel, they had a croquet set so he learned a little about playing  croquet with his dad.  They also had a giant chess set and SPL’s version of chess was moving all the pieces together on one side of the board.

During our stay at the hotel, we also saw what a pipe bursting does to carpet and what cleanup ensued –thankfully our room wasn’t affected — and as a result, SPL incorporated more "plumber"  play into his pretend play.

We also had fun visiting the zoo lights @ AZ zoo.

SPL is now about 34 pounds and a bit over 3 feet tall.  He loves word play (like substituting different words in songs or while we’re reading storybooks e.g. "Grumpy bird was very….."  and SPL will say "bossy" (which is from his other favorite book Bossy Bear :-).
