31 months (part I)

SPL is now 31 months old and this month, I kept more notes! 🙂
Conversations are a big fave these days –I’ve even been able to keep a stack of post-its @ our dining room table so I’m ready. And SPL has started saying "what are you writing down, mom?" and now the new version, "Don’t write down what I’m saying, mom!" But he’s not the boss of me 😉
Lunchtime conversation after returning from preschool:
SPL: Why wasn’t Mitchell @ school? Maybe he was on a trip? Where was Matthew (both were absent from school that day)
and then:
SPL: Caitlyn may have a baby today (one of his classmates who was expecting a baby sister). (and then applying that idea) "Is Malia going to have a baby sister? Is Aicha?" (all these are girls in his class 🙂
And with his dad:
SPL: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 7, 6, 3, A, E, D, H
John: What are you doing?
SPL: Counting!
And after reading some stories one afternoon, he said, "I hope nana’s going to come back this year."
And one morning when found his duck (that is usually in his bed) on the floor (he/she’d spent the night there due to my oversight — I’d been holding him/her and had forgotten to put him/her back before I exited for the night) and SPL said "look at his face mom. He’s mad."
SPL: That’s my son’s name: Keowheel
KH: How old is he?
SPL: 2 1/2
KH: Wow I have a son that’s 2 1/2 also.
SPL: I’m not sure if he’s 2 1/2 or 5? His house is far away and he’s asleep. I think he’s 3 1/2.
