Nikhyl and Chandre's wedding

Liz, Jon, John, and SPL (holding on to John’s ears 🙂

Over Presidents’  Day weekend, our dear friend Nikhyl got married to a lovely woman named Chandre.  Thanks to his Auntie Suchi, SPL had the perfect outfit: a kurta-pyjama:-).  He looked very handsome, if I do say so myself.

The wedding was in downtown San Francisco, and SPL’s favorite part was thatNik got to ridea horse, around the block to arrive at the wedding (we got some honks and cheers from well-wishers as we processed around — the groom’s familyand friends lead the procession with him on the horse (with his youngest nephew) right behind).  Of course SPL had to know the horse’s name and when he was told it was named Gigi (the nickname John gave his grandmother when he was a boy), SPL got an even bigger kick out of it.

The men in Nikhyl’s party wore pink shawls.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get any photos of Chandre as we spent all of the actual ceremony playing with SPL and other 2-4 year olds in the foyer :-).

Speaking of children in the foyer, it was nice to go to a wedding where children were included and celebrated.  I know it’s not easy embrace such unpredictable and energetic humans at a more formal elegant occasion, but we parents are grateful!

It was a wonderful occasion and we wish Nikhyl and Chandre much love and happiness as they begin their lives together!
