so, it's almost June and here I am filling in he 411 about month 34:

Verbal changes:
for me, the biggest change has been the addition of the  "whys" to our conversations. I have to say it's a mixed bag – mostly fun and interesting but by the 5th or 6th or more "why?" it gets a bit……hmm…..much?

He's also been big on practicing his pronouns: anybody, nobody, anything as in "It's not time for anybody's nap" or "I don't want anybody to come over."

also he's big into declaring his opinions:
"you're bothering me.I was working so hard until you came in here" (while he was in his room "leaf blowing" and didn't want to be disturbed 🙂

Quotes from the month:
KEH: I'm going to class tonight with Teacher Judy
SPL: Can I come?
KEH: There aren't any kids @ teacher Judy's night class
SPL: they stay home with their daddies.
KEH: or mommies
SPL: or babysitters.
KEH: Exactly. good thinking.

Getting into the car 4/29
SPL:  This (the car) is the street sweeper and you (mom) are the street sweeper driver.
SPL:  This is the Street Sweeper's carseat. We'll pick up some leaves.

Trying to make sense of his world:
SPL:  Where did the sun go? Why did it get dark?
KEH: Behind the clouds
and after seeing the increase in light
SPL: Is the sun out now?

And on sunsets:
SPL:  where is the sun going?

JOL: what is all that stuff (SPL had just dumped his bag out and in it was a drill, some trading cards, a pocketbook)
SPL: It's all my stuff.
JOL: oh, really…(chuckles…)
SPL: then why are you asking?
JOL and KEH laugh out loud

Getting ready to go to the Aquarium while Nana and Bampa were here:
SPL: Do Penguins have toys?
Nana: I don't think so.
SPL: `cuz I can bring them some. and Penguins will say: "what?!?! toys?!!?. And I'll say "yeah, toys."

And "We can ask the penguins if they speak Chinese." (Sam's still going to Mandarin music class).

SPL: Aquarium? will we see penguins tomorrow. Maybe the Penguins will do a dance?
JOL: do penguins dance?
SPL. No
SPL Maybe 1 will dance?

John shows SPL the dessert box (we'd bought little mini-pastries @ Whole Foods for Bampa, Myra, and Nana's visit) to motivate SPL to eat his dinner :
SPL: Can you put it (the box of mini-pastries) next to me?
