The Life & Times of SPL ยท 2005-2013

34 months: part II

Breaking his "frowny" pose with a sly grin

More funny quotes:
"All the tires on the bus are flat so we need pigeon to help, ok (Pigeon from Mo Willems' books)?"
Later when I asked him if the bus had gotten fixed: "Yeah, pigeon fixed it."

SPL: "Everybody needs to move out of the way. You get ducky. They're hiding."

Waking up in the morning when Nana was here: SPL was fast asleep until I said "Nana" and then upon hearing that, SPL jumped up and piled out of bed fast as lightning and announced "Nana, it's morning!" and ran to her room

And when we're reading stories he's started saying: "Let's turn the page and find out."

And from preschool he's picked up:
Singing the "wash your hands" song with his stuffed animals that he was teaching in his bed (Teacher Judy just started doing this@ Preschool last week)

Other routines of this month:
Crab, dolphin, shark, and penguin walks and races to bed (we walk/run like the animal ๐Ÿ™‚

Telling me a secret each night after the last song (he whispers it in my ear โ€” oftentimes it's unintelligible though ๐Ÿ™‚

We've been hard at work gardening too and have planted pole green beans, heirloom tomatoes, sweet 100 tomatoes, sweet bell peppers, sweet red peppers, and basil.

Excitement this month came when we arrived home from music class to find Sunnyvale city workers jackhammering the boulevard concrete to put in tree (maybe we'll have a tree by the end of the month! We only requested it in July 2007).

And finally how imaginative play has changed our house:
We now, thanks to SPL's imagination, have a hot tub in his room (which is now the backyard), a train in the playroom, a skateboard park on the stairs that lead from the playroom to the TV room, and our TV room is "the street" where the trash trucks and street sweeper come (and SPL makes sure that he holds my hand (so that I am safe :-), before we cross the street.

3 is just around the corner โ€” hard to believe!
