We celebrated a quiet, merry Christmas as the weather did some uncharacteristic displays of torrential downpours and wind gusts punctuated with bursts of sunlight.

SPL was up @ 6:10 am and showed amazing restraint by staying in bed until 6:25 am when he asked “Can we go see what Santa Claus brought?” So up we got and after rousting daddy and the we made our way through the dark hallway to the living room which was lit by the Christmas tree. SPL immediately looked for the stockings and was puzzled when he didn’t see them hanging up under the mantle. Santa had moved them to the coffee table due to the small nails and the concern about their added weight.

SPL loved all the thoughtful gifts and we were impressed at how he opened and played or read each with interest and focus (didn’t rush off to immediately open the next gift — though he was very excited about all of them :-).
