SPL's Blog

Wow -- I am even further behind in my blog posts than I thought: TX Grandparents visited in late June to SPL's birthday, Blake (John's cousin) visited in July, and SPL and I traveled to KY in July.  And then there was August!  We went to Disneyland!!!!!  Ack.  And now we're almost halfway through September....... So rewind the tape to July (you'll need to use your Guest Pass that I emailed you to see the Flickr photos or log into Flickr).  We started the visit with a trip to the San Francisco Zoo with SPL's 3 CA cousins (aka "the trio").  The zoo visit started out with our favorite part: the feeding of the grizzlies!  This feeding was a little lack-luster though as there weren't as many fish involved (they feed the grizzlies live fish and it's fascinating to watch the 2 bears stalk their prey in the pond -- sometimes it takes them awhile to figure out ).  EVR enjoyed using my iPhone to video the experience (will upload videos soon).  The kids had fun the around the park too.  KAR had a foot injury prior to our trip to SF so in order to keep her healthy for their upcoming trip to HI, her siblings graciously pulled AFter a fun morning, we went looking for a treat and all we could find were GIANT sized ice cream cones or slushies.  Here are the and here they are the giant cones. was a good sport throughout and it was particularly fun to have such a We had a lot of playing Monopoly, and eating (thanks Dad!).  SPL always enjoys spending time with and they read, opened presents (for SPL's birthday) and Here'seating a fruit strip.  Here is Thanks for coming to visit us mom and Dad!
