I am still catching up on my blog posts - -this one if from early August (please use your Flickr guest pass to see most of the photos as I marked them "friends and family" not open to the public).
We took SPL to Disneyland for 3 days and had a blast! It was his first time and John & I hadn't been in 12 years or so so it was fun to experience it again, and especially through SPL's eyes. Here are the boys arriving @ Main Street:

We decided to start slow so our first ride was the Jungle Cruise. The line was moving pretty quickly so, in no time, we found

SPL loved the

, monkeys, crocodiles, and the rhinos

After Jungle Cruise, we made it to Autopia before the lines got too long and all 3 of us had a blast cruising around the race course. Here are

and

and then they turned around &

(I was following behind in my own car). Couldn't leave Tomorrowland without visiting Space Mountain and

SPL was a gamer on

Roller coasters must be in his DNA (like his mom) because he had a blast :-).
And then we found our way to

and

(I love SPL"s sweet wave to Woody in the photo :-)
As for characters, SPL knows more of the newer Disney storylines so we were more focused on Woody, Buzz, Jessie, the crew from Cars, and Monsters' Inc.

,

but they were on the move so we didn't get an official photo, but we did get SPL's photo taken with more of the "old school" characters: Mickey twice (once

and once @

),

and a new school character:

(but he didn't bring his tools!)

was at CA adventure where we enjoyed the
bluegrass band, riding the carousel, and waiting in line (longest wait by far and no Fast Pass available: 90 mins) for the Toy Story Ride (which was cool but not all that, IMHO). The parade @ CA Adventure was right up SPL's alley: all the Pixar films. They lead off with Monsters Inc (

and

), then

and Bugs Life, and then

and

. Awesome!
Oh, and here's a story that SPL remembered and I'd forgotten -- Sarge (toy soldier from Toy Story movie) walked up to SPL and said "that's a great helmet" about his hat :-)
And Toontown -- we, as adults, forget how amazing it is from a 5 year old's perspective to see where all the Disney characters live. SPL loved sitting in

, and getting his

(we had impeccable timing -- 2nd in line!) too!
Hard to believe it had only been 1.5 months since John had his surgery -- he was able to give

to SPL to make waiting in line easier.
And

after day 3's fireworks and Fantasmic show (we were @ the park until 10 pm or so): SPL's holding his iPod and watching videos :-).
Here are some
videos from our trip -- mostly the parades which still are festive and fun. SPL had a few opportunities to join in the dancing but decided to sit them all out.
Happy summer!
