Today we went to San Francisco to see the
International Dragonboat Festival and it was awesome! The boats are beautiful and a drum beats to coordinate the paddlers. There were 6 boats per heat and we saw 3 or 4 heats race. There were also performances by a bunch of different local artists, most of whom were young people (under 17). SPL loved it!
This young woman is performing with a
-- it was tricky and there was a troupe of them tossing them back and forth and catching them on the string. Impressive!
- - dancing around and standing up (2 people inside each so the "hind" quarters would lift the front up so that the dragon could stand up). Also impressive!
