SPL's Blog

I should’ve posted this on Thursday — after Duke (a 6 seed in the men’s NCAA tourney) was sent packing  at the hands of VCU (Virginia Commonwealth, an 11 seed).  At the end of the game, I said "Go home Duke" and SPL didn’t miss a beat, adding his own "bye bye."  🙂

I laughed out loud and so that, of course, encouraged him.  Then I got him to add the Duke on to his bye bye.  As it was almost time for John/dad to come home, I prepped him to say it when he saw John.  I don’t have video but it was very cute to watch — John opened the door to his car and a very excited SPL started dancing, waving his hands, and saying "bye bye Duke" just as we’d practiced.

Of course, it wasn’t the clearest enunciation so the only one who understood it was me (and SPL).  But John quickly caught on :-).
