Happy 2nd Birthday!
didn’t want this day to go by without wishing SPL a happy 2nd birthday on his blog! He’s had a great day and there will be *many* more photos and video to come (you know you love it 😉 — but for now, here’s a glimpse of how he spent his day. It was close to perfect: started off by running into our room (from his new big bed) and wishing us good morning, then a special birthday trip to Monterey to see the Aquarium. On the way out of town we stopped by the local coffee place and got to see the "giant" trash cans behind (a big fave for SPL).
In Monterey, there was a lot of work being done on Cannery Row and SPL had a front row seat to see a bulldozer, , and other large equipment — talk about cool! It’s like they knew it was his birthday.
and of course, he loved every minute of his time in the Aquarium and spending it with daddy, Grandee, Nana Dana, and me. We got to see the new exhibit as well as the combination art and jellies exhibit (new to me at least). We also stopped by SPL’s favorite the aviary (but didn’t have time for the penguins or tide pools, unfortunately).
The day ended with some time to play in the water at the sink with Grandee and a ladybug cake, decorated by dad — the pan a gift from Nana (thanks Nana!).
