February Vacation Week (new videos added)

Even though my school district didn't have the week off, and BOTH of SPL's preschool programs DID, we still managed to have a fun vacation week. All 3 of us had Monday off for Presidents' Day so that was a good start to the week. During his vacation, SPL got to spend two mornings with his dad, Monday and Thursday, and the entire day with me on Tuesday. Fun outings included breakfast with dad @ Country Gourmet, lunch with mom @ Subway and a trip to the San Jose Children's Museum with mom. At CDM,

While mom and dad worked the other days, SPL had fun with his babysitter, went to the park, and played with some friends. We ended the week on Saturday with a fun day in San Francisco @ the Cal Academy with our

(our John/dad was visiting Nan (his mom), brother and family in Austin). The biggest hurdle was parking as, unbeknownst to us, it was free admission weekend @ the DeYoung museum which is currently hosting the King Tut exhibit. I seriously thought we might not be able to find parking and tried to gently set expectations with SPL. The thought of not getting to go to the museum and see his baby buddy CCG brought giant tears :-(. Thankfully Lady Luck was on our side and we found a spot (though it was a bit of a hike).
We hadn't seen CCG since right before the new year and since then, she has turned into quite the chatterbox. SPL was fascinating to her and brought many smiles to her face. Both kids loved the aquarium with its tidepool creatures (sea urchins and sea stars to touch) and diver cleaning the glass and posing for photos too.

We ended the weekend by celebrating Aunt Beth's 40th birthday with brunch @ our house and dinner and cake @ their house. SPL was my key partner in getting ready -- even after a long day in SF on Saturday, he
with me as we made not 1, not 2, but 3 more stops to get cake, balloons, and decorations.Â
And these 2 videos from our departure from the Cal Academy on Saturday: SPL loves the dry fountain and this time he had a guitar player to accompany him!
